International Rothenberger Help Day
Dortmund, 10/06/2024 – The Tools for Life Foundation organises its third annual Rothenberger Help Day. As part of Rothenberger Holding, NORDWEST also took part in the event to show its social commitment to the region. All Rothenberger Holding companies worldwide participate on a specified Saturday, which fell on 8 June this year.
At the NORDWEST trade association, 20 employees came together to collect rubbish in Phoenix-West, starting at the NORDWEST company headquarters. The result was 65 kg of rubbish, which the NORDWEST employees collected on Saturday afternoon around the NORDWEST headquarters in Phoenix-West, some of them with the help of their families. At first glance, Technologiepark Phoenix-West and the Phoenix-Park, a popular site for athletes and strollers, appear clean. But spurred on by the desire to break the 45 kg mark of 2022 and eliminate all rubbish and litter from the park environment, this year the “Nordwestler” filled 17 large rubbish bags with plastic and glass waste and collected countless crown caps, paper tissues, cigarette butts, pizza boxes and construction waste that would otherwise continue to pollute the soil and groundwater for decades.
Equipped with grip tongs, rubbish bags and gloves, the 26 volunteers set off for the Phoenix-West site on Saturday at noon. Divided into small teams, they searched along the walkways and streets for rubbish, which they found in abundance. At around 4 p.m., all the helpers big and small gathered again at NORDWEST for a get-together, where with great anticipation, they weighed the rubbish and piled it up for the group photo. EDG Entsorgung Dortmund GmbH will come to collect the rubbish bags from NORDWEST today.
