Stahlverbund PHOENIX Strong partners united
Around 130 medium-sized, privately operated steel trading companies have joined forces under the umbrella of our steel association, Stahlverbund PHOENIX, making it the largest purchasing organisation in Germany. In addition to its concentration on procurement, trade partners can also rely on NORDWEST for customised service concepts. The comprehensive services include drop shipments, performance-based bonus models, regular events for increasing expertise, networking and experience sharing, regular industry insights, support for young entrepreneurs, product group meetings and much more.
In order to respond to market changes in due time, we have developed sustainable, effective and future-oriented strategies that benefit every steel dealer in the network, regardless of its size and orientation. A balanced proportion of product areas ensures maximum independence. Through realistically agreed framework conditions, honesty and commitment, we create tangible added value for you on your path towards a successful future in the steel industry.
We enjoy steadily increasing acceptance throughout Europe as a consistently reliable partner because we offer our trade partners a comprehensive range of services. Together with four other European steel purchasing organisations, we founded the astedis network (association of steel distribution) in 2023.
In addition to NORDWEST, the founding partners of astedis include the nationally independent and successful steel purchasing companies Coalsider from Spain, European Steel Group from Poland, Sider Centre from Italy and Socoda from France.
The five purchasing companies are responsible for a purchasing volume of around 3.5 million tonnes of steel products and represent a total of over 200 medium-sized steel trading companies. The goal of the cooperative network is to be the sales reference for key European producers and to develop strategic working relationships with all of Europe’s biggest manufacturers.
Private trade among medium-sized companies has become even more important in recent years. astedis is to become a linchpin within Europe in this area. We are convinced that our strategic network will create new opportunities for all partners involved.
